CaMpaign using soCial Media,
tWitter and faCebook, as Well as
traditional neWs Media and the
CoMpany's dual 6'x15' eleCtroniC
signs at the boise loCation.
the signs, located at a 54,000-vehicle
intersection, have been leveraged as a
core part of the campaign.
the facebook page is the backbone
of the effort, displaying a behind-the-
scenes photo gallery, videos from fans
at the car wash and local tv news
coverage. also included are hours, prices
and location, contact information,
dozens of comments from fans, as well
as news releases about a third location
and charitable donations. there is also
a program to display local artists on the
electronic signs and an art gallery of
paintings and photos from local artists
that have already run on the signs.
a twitter feed sends out car wash
trivia and directs people to Metro express
facebook to write on the wall and get a
free car wash. the feed also invites artists
to submit work, has links to news media
stories about Metro express, announces
charitable programs, and discusses local
and national issues relevant to car washes.
as a result of the social media
campaign, Metro express has 120
facebook fans that are periodically
updated. the company has generated
considerable word-of-mouth among
artists and fans on facebook and twitter.
in addition, their efforts have attracted
coverage from marketing bloggers for
innovative methods.
local television news stations also
have broadcast highly favorable stories
about the art displays, charitable
programs and in-house videos on the
facebook page. a twitter conversation
even led Metro express to apply for this
award.
