The Case for
WRITTEN By

there is a neW Car Wash in Clifton
forge, virginia, Called the
doWntoWn too CarWash. owned
by brothers Matt and dizzy garten, it was
designed and manufactured by a company
called Cavale Construct. sleek, modular and
stylish, it has a different feel and a different
look than your typical car wash. one reason
may be its country of origin, the country
(belgium) where Cavale Construct has
been making modular car washes by the
hundreds for its many clients in europe.
only now has it come to the u.s., courtesy
of scott harrison of national building
Components, llC. harrison is the us
representative for the Cavale car wash.
after a lifetime in the construction
industry, harrison decided, about four years
ago, to try creating a car wash building. "i
wanted to go in a different direction, and
i thought the car wash industry would be
a good way to go. i built a prototype with
a powder-coated aluminum. but i didn't
like the looks of that, so i started to look for
something different."
so why did harrison go across the globe
for inspiration? harrison was looking for
something that would set him apart from
the typical car wash style. he says, "so i
embarked on some research, and through
the miracle of the internet, i found Cavale.
i called them and asked if they were
interested in getting started in the us. they
said, `absolutely.' and i said, `i'd like to be a
part of that.'"
the Cavale building is a stainless steel
top-of-the-line product. the look made
a big impression on harrison. "it was
the most incredible thing i saw when i
pulled up to the first one in belgium," says
harrison. "it was so beautiful, sexy, clean,
curvy and shiny. it was the lamborghini of
car washes."
but what he saw was only the beginning.
the whole package was what sold harrison.
"i can't say enough about the cleanliness,
the safety issues you can see all around
you. kids can watch the car go through it;
the roof is clear so you're seeing the sky. it's
just beyond what we have in this country."
the visuals of the car wash are unique
for good reason. "dimitri Casters, owner of
Cavale in belgium, is also an artist. i could
see how he used his artistry in this car
wash, that he and a couple of his designers
came up with."
the Cavale car wash has a standard
automatic bay look, but they also
custom design washes. the company
has created about 14 of its own models,
