DETAIL PLUS Introduces New Product
DETAIL PLUS Car Appearance Systems in Portland, Oregon introduces: the MINI DETAILER, a product which offers a fast and convenient way to perform an Express Wax or Express Tire Shine for Express Detail Services. This portable cart contains two 5-gallon stainless steel chemical tanks with a Spray Gun Wax Applicator and Dress Plus Tire Shine Applicator. All you need to do is fill the tanks with chemical and connect an airline to the control manifold on the cart, adjust the pressure and that is it.

RYKO Manufacturing Changes Name
Signaling a directional shift towards strengthening its position as the total industry solutions provider building more profitability for car wash owners and operators, Ryko Manufacturing in Grimes, IA announced today that it has both changed its name to Ryko Solutions, Inc. and launched a new brand identity program, including a new website at www.ryko.com.

CARWASHTV.COM Launches Road Trip Series
CarwashTV.com, the industry video magazine officially launched its road trip documentary series that follows host Kyle Doyle and 3 car wash owners as they drive in a 30' RV from St. Louis to Las Vegas for Car Care World Expo 2011. The mainpurpose of the series is to see what can be learned from non-car wash businesses. "This was our most ambitious project yet and I think the series will help car wash operators find ideas and inspiration", said producer Kyle Doyle.

The series follows the four participants as they spend time with the owners of a brewery, a BBQ joint, a high-end salon, a 3,000 acre farm and a cupcake truck. "Sometimes we feel like the challenges that face car washing are unique, but the more you talk to other small businesses, the more you realize that we are not alone. There is a lot we can learn from these businesses", said Doyle. The Road Trip series is broken into six episodes and will be released every other week at www.carwashTV.com from October 25 to January 10, 2012. The road trip series is sponsored by the ICA, WashCard and Peco.


Tommy Car Wash Opens New Facilities
Tommy Car Wash recently opened a new facility in Louisiana, a Totally Tommy Flexserve Car Wash. The primary "flight deck" tower stands tall on a high traffic intersection. Another Tommy building, a freestanding express model opened in Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to the company, "theTriple Play Express is a game-changer featuring the complete Tommy line-up, featuring the Tommy Transporter belt and self-loading system. This Tommy building is drawing a capture rate near 2%." Also, according to Tommy executives, "Inbay conversions are hot. The dual belt conveyor has made it possible to convert inbays to tunnels without needing to extend them. Tommy's inbay conversion can wash 40 cars per hour, and doesn't require you to extend your wash bay. This system opens the door for high volume in places previously not possible." Also, it is a great way of complimenting your existing sites by adding brand value with mini sites.


EcoloBlue Offers Texas Drought Solution
With the failing infrastructure, 10% decrease in the aquifers, increased water restrictions and quality control issues; the search for an alternative water source is at the forefront of the Texas Plan. EcoloBlue offers a solution with the EcoloBlue industrial units that can produce up to 1320 gallons per day from the water in the air. The new improved units offer a new energy efficient variable compressor, interface capabilities, lower temperature production and optional power sources.

UNITEC Adds Shell Oil Credit Option For the Wash Select II POS
Unitec Electronics, ElkridgeMaryland, a premier manufacturer of carwash payment systems, now offers credit processing through the Shell Oil Network with the Wash Select II POS automatic payment system. This interface is available to operators using the Verifone Topaz POS System and Sapphire controller.
