MCA Free Tour, Dinner, Program Event
Fredericksburg, VA
Classic Car Center of Fredericksburg
March 26, 2008
On March 26, 2007 the Mid-Atlantic Carwash Association gathered in
Fredericksburg, VA for an afternoon and evening filled with
activities. The record crowd of 74 turned out for a complimentary
meeting and tour. Sponsors for the event were: Meeting Sponsor:
Vehicle Washing Systems: Trolley Tour Sponsor: Istobal; Beverage
Sponsor: Unitec Electronics.
We boarded trolleys and headed off to tour washes in the
Fredericksburg area. The first stop by Rob's Carwash in the shopping
district of Fredericksburg, followed by a drive-by at the Santa Fe
Wash and Social Club. Our next stop was Keystone Auto Spa and Coffee
Shop in the historic part of the city. Our final stop was another
very new Rob's Carwash in a nearby and rapidly growing area outside
of the city. This wash featured Isotbal equipment, our host for the
trolley tour.
The dinner and program were held at the Classic Car Center. Guests
enjoyed looking at the carefully and lovingly restored vintage cars.
Dinner was old-fashioned Virginia barbeque, with cold drinks, and
tasty browniers.
Our program, provided with assistance from Ken Brott and Brandon
Jordan, with DRB, focused on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification).
We had two speakers-- Scott Blackstock from Tidal Wave Wash in
Atlanta and Todd Christopher from Classic Auto Spa in Allen Park,
Michigan. The information shared was powerful and timely. Our members
in attendance got a preview of the future of carwashing.
Don't miss our next meeting coming up May 1 in Columbia, MD at the
Sheraton. Our topic is New Filtration Systems and we will be awarding
the annual Trendsetters Awards and electing officers for 2008-2009.
